Fitment Guide & Options

Rough Country forged upper control arms (UCAs) restore factory ball-joint geometry after a suspension lift, preventing premature CV boot and ball joint wear and giving your truck the correct camber/caster back. Fits Ford F-150, Ford Ranger, Ford Super Duty, Chevy Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, Ram 1500, Toyota Tacoma, Toyota Tundra, Toyota 4Runner, Nissan Titan, Nissan Titan XD, Nissan Frontier, and Jeep Wrangler.

Available finishes: raw forged aluminum, red powder-coat, and black. All models use uniball or ball-joint pivots (varies by application) with grease fittings for long service life.

Recommended pairing: if you're running a 3-inch or larger lift on IFS trucks, UCAs aren't optional — they're required to keep alignment in spec. We install control arms at Road Runner Wheels & Tires in Marietta, GA in about 90 minutes, with an alignment done in-house afterward. Call 678-400-6467 to schedule.

Control Arms FAQ

Do I need upper control arms with a lift kit?

If you're running a 3-inch or larger lift on an IFS truck, yes. Factory control arms are designed for stock ride height. Lifting the front repositions the ball joint angle beyond spec, causing accelerated CV boot and ball joint wear plus alignment that won't come into spec.

Forged aluminum or forged steel — which do I want?

Both are stronger than stock. Aluminum is lighter (better ride response, lower unsprung weight). Steel is more impact-resistant if you wheel hard. Rough Country offers both — pick based on how you drive.

How long to install control arms?

About 90 minutes per pair, plus alignment. We do this in-house at Road Runner Wheels & Tires in Marietta GA.

Are control arms serviceable?

Yes. Rough Country UCAs use grease fittings on the pivots for regular service. Ball joints and uniballs are replaceable when they eventually wear.
