Three Wheels. One Statement.
Polaris Slingshot runs a 5x114.3 bolt pattern across every trim, every year. Most builds run a staggered setup — narrow up front (typically 17x7 or 18x7.5), wide in back (18x9 or 20x9) — for the aggressive trike stance. Square setups (all three wheels the same size) are also popular for show / autocross builds.
- Staggered + square packages. 2 fronts + 1 rear shipped as a single bundle with offsets pre-matched per axle.
- Light-weight aluminum. Cast and forged options across the price range. Lower rotating mass = quicker throttle response.
- Fitment verified per year. 2015-2019 ships 17"/18" stagger by default; 2020-2027 R / Signature ships 18"/20" stagger by default. Custom sizing on request.
- Stagger or square, your call. Three of the same wheel for a uniform look, or staggered for the factory show stance — either configuration ships ready to bolt on.
- Single-wheel replacement available for curb damage or warranty swaps. No "set of three only" surcharge.

First-generation Slingshot with the 2.4L GM Ecotec. Stock fitment runs 17x7 ET40 front + 18x9 ET40 rear. Most aftermarket builds upgrade to 18-19" staggered.
2020-2027 · R / Signature
Second-generation Slingshot with the 2.0L ProStar engine. Stock fitment runs 18x7.5 ET40 front + 20x9 ET40 rear. R / Signature trims ship with the wider stagger as standard.
Square Setup · Show / Autocross
All three wheels the same size for a uniform stance. Common at 18" or 19" depending on build. Easier rotation, single-spare interchange, and a cleaner look for show cars.

Slingshot staggered wheel sizes
- 2015-2019 Slingshot S / SL / SLR β staggered 17 front / 18 rear. Front: typically 17x6 or 17x7. Rear: 18x9 / 18x10.
- 2020-2027 Slingshot R / R Signature LE / Limited β staggered 18 front / 20 rear. Front: 18x7 or 18x8. Rear: 20x9 / 20x10.
Bolt pattern is 5x4.5 (5x114.3) β same as many Honda/Mazda/Mitsubishi passenger cars, BUT Slingshot offsets are unique. Generic 5x114.3 wheels usually don't clear the Slingshot's front swingarm and rear single-arm geometry. Always confirm Slingshot-specific fitment.
Slingshot tire sizing
The single-rear-wheel layout means tire selection is critical for traction. Most-installed combinations:
- 2015-2019 SL/SLR β 205/50R17 front + 305/30R18 rear (most popular). Other rear options: 295/30R18, 315/30R18.
- 2020+ R / Signature β 225/40R18 front + 305/30R20 rear. The 20" rear is the modern Slingshot signature size.
Tire compound matters β summer / max-performance tires (Michelin Pilot Sport, Continental ExtremeContact) outperform all-seasons on a Slingshot by a large margin. The 305 rear especially benefits from a sticky compound.

2015-2019 S/SL/SLR: staggered 17 front / 18 rear. 2020-2027 R / Signature: staggered 18 front / 20 rear. We confirm the exact offset + bolt pattern for your specific year/trim before ordering.
Can I run 20" rears on my 2018 SLR?
Yes with proper clearance work β but it's not factory-supported. Most 2018-2019 customers stick with the OEM 18" rear because the suspension geometry is tuned for it. We'll walk through the tradeoff if you want to upsize.
Best tire for the 305 rear?
Summer / max-performance β Michelin Pilot Sport 4S or Continental ExtremeContact Sport. For all-season β Bridgestone Potenza Sport AS. Avoid touring all-seasons; they don't deliver traction the chassis can use.
Do generic 5x114.3 wheels fit a Slingshot?
The bolt pattern matches but the offset / backspacing / hub bore usually don't. Slingshot-specific fitment is required β generic Civic/Mazda wheels rub on the front swingarm and don't clear the rear single-arm geometry.
How long does a Slingshot install take?
60-90 minutes for mount + Hunter Road Force balance + torque + safety check.
