About This Wheel
When you pick up the PR172, the first thing you notice is how crisp the spoke edges are for a cast piece — the mold work is tighter than you'd expect at this price tier. The face runs a multi-spoke layout with enough negative space to let brake hardware show through without looking busy. In Black, the face reads as a single, unified plane rather than individual spokes competing for attention. That works especially well against white, silver, or magnetic gray body paint, where the contrast is sharp but not aggressive. Dark-colored trucks — Agate Black, Carbonized Gray — get a more monochromatic, stealthy read that still has depth because of the machined or gloss variation in the finish. This is a wheel that photographs well and holds up just as well in a parking lot on a cloudy day.
